Come together

Working together

In the wake of the tragedy of George Floyd, I am hearing many people say it is up to the younger generation to make changes to fix the racial injustice that has gone in our country for 300 years. Why are we just putting this on the younger generation? Is it because my generation has failed to make things better? I don’t think so totally but we could have done so much better. We are leaving our younger generation with trillions of dollars of debt, a government that is not working right now, all they do is fight back and forth, an environment that needs to be repaired and fixed. I have not given up on these issues to make it better for the next generation. The next generation includes my kids and your kids. We can’t put all of this on them to fix, we must step up, work together, respect each other, care for one another, have empathy for each other and get things done that can leave a positive legacy for our “younger generation”. Put your boxing gloves down and let’s make a positive difference.

My analogy is this. When one of our military units goes into a battle, they have prepared and trained to work as a team. They care about one another first, and foremost. They all come from different backgrounds, are different races, and different areas of our country. They all have different political views and even different morals and ethics, but they come together to work as a team in a battle. They are not divided; they work as one. We are all human beings, doesn’t matter what color our skin is, what our background is, where we come from, we are all human beings. When that military unit goes into battle and they need to depend on each other in that battle do you think that they will sit there and say I am not going to help my teammate because he is black, white, red, or brown? No, they battle for each other to keep all of us free. Why can’t we do that as a country? Let’s Go.
