Culture building starts with trust. The people in your organization must be able to trust you and what you are trying to build. You build this trust by building a positive relationship with the people you are leading. Don't be a boss be a coach, catch people doing great things that will help your organization grow and flourish and let them know about it. Have individual meetings with your people, get to know them and let them feel how much you care about them as a person not just as a worker. Give them feedback on a regular basis and when they are doing something that is hurting themselves or your organization's growth, coach them don't boss them. It is your opportunity to serve somebody, to make a positive difference in their life. Build a work with culture not a work for culture. Another way to develop trust is to be a great delegator. When you delegate you are telling your people that you believe in them. Don't try and control everything, you picked these people to be in your organization for a reason because you believed they could help you build something special, now let them do it.
