Getting the Most out of Your People

Here are some tips on getting productivity out of your people whether it is with your business, athletic team, or students. Create a people-first culture and watch your productivity explode.

1. Lead them with empathy-put yourself in their shoes, get to know your people

2. Have conversations often-communicate with your people and not just about work, develop life-long relationships

3. Create a culture of work with instead of work for.

4. Active Listening-listening to your employees and their suggestions and concerns

5. Challenge them-challenging them to get out of their comfort zone helps them gain confidence, it proves to them that you have confidence in them.

6. Have Growth Reviews-be excited to be the person who helps them grow and get stronger at what they do.

7. Be Honest- the truth hurts sometimes but it can only add to growth if you live a work with culture.

8. Empower your people-trust them, give them a say, you hired them or picked them because they have strengths that need to use to help your organization grow.

9. Be Accountable-don’t play the blame game, turn mistakes into awesome learning opportunities.

10. Goals- always be setting and helping your people strive for achieving the goals that you and they set.
